TORONTO – Dr. Greg Evans of the University of Toronto has been named one of Ontario’s most outstanding university teachers by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA). Dr. Evans, who teaches in the Department of Chemical Engineering, will receive a 2014-2015 OCUFA Teaching Award at an October 24, 2015 ceremony in Toronto.
“Dr. Evans believes that teaching is about students, not about content,” said Andrea Buchholz, Chair of OCUFA’s Award Committee. “This commitment to learning has allowed him to have an enormous impact on engineering education at U of T and beyond.”
The four other recipients of a 2014-2015 OCUFA Teaching Award are:
- Vincent Hui, Department of Architectural Science, Ryerson University
- Pippa Lock, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, McMaster University
- Timothy S. O’Connell, Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, Brock University
- Trent Tucker, College of Business and Economics, University of Guelph
