Guidelines for the Henry Mandelbaum Fellowship Award

$5,000.00

Eligibility

 • Accepted to or enrolled in a full-time graduate program at a publicly-assisted Ontario University

 • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or international student with a valid Canadian study permit

 • Seeking financial support to pursue or continue first Masters or Doctoral degree

 • Have achieved a first-class average, as determined by university, in each of the last two years of full-time study or equivalent

 • Does not intend to pursue a degree program that combines undergraduate and graduate degrees

Evaluation Criteria 

• Academic excellence 

• Academic promise and research potential

• Leadership (demonstrated and potential) as defined by personal achievement, community service, involvement in academic life, volunteerism, civic engagement

Documentation

• Application to be submitted electronically or by fax 

• Cover letter from Dean/Department Head providing criteria for excellence in specific field/discipline (adjudicators may not be familiar with a specific discipline and this will provide context for recognizing excellence) 

• Three letters of reference highlighting evaluation criteria and how candidate meets each, as well as potential benefits to the university the candidate will attend
